My name is Ton Westen
and I am a jewelry designer by profession. I was for more than 25 years a balloted member of the
Diamond Exchange in Amsterdam, in which city also my own studio was located.
Owing to the fact that I implicated a variety of computer applications in my design work already
since early 1987, I learned to handle computers as convenient tools, not as a separat target, but
strictly as a useful aid. The set up and construction of a website is -among other things- one of the
applications of this opinion and perception.
My wife Con bought mid - 2000 a Fiat 124 Spider ( USA ) in an extremely fine and original
condition, as a result of which I also fell for the elegant design and overall proportions of this unique
car, merely for esthetical reasons.
And while I got acquainted with a completely new world of the Fiat 124
Spider, I really was stupefied by the fact that for this popular and elegant convertible there was no
likewise fine, elegant, informative and actual website. I found some, but these did not respond at all
( not even in the slightest way ) in my opinion to these criteria.
When at the end of the year 2003 still nothing in a representative way on the worldwide web in the
Dutch language could be found, I took the initiative all by myself to register the official domain
name Spidersweb.nl and constructed the website at which you are looking at now during many hundreds
of hours.
