Installation of Windows Media Player
This free player operates perfectly with
the 2 most used browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 and higher) and Netscape Navigator/
Communicator (version 4.0 and higher). This Media Player is playing additionally almost all sound- and
video file-formats like: MPEG, MP3, WAV, AVI , etc.
Windows Media Speler is a
standard program included in Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.0 and
higher and normally you don't need to install this program seperately. This Media Player is a
so-called "all-in-one" player, which can handle almost all file formats, MP3-music files
included.
Click on the logo below to download your free Media Player at the Microsoft website.
- When you are on this <Windows Media 9 Series> webpage, click
-depending upon your
computer system- on one of the light-gray buttons <Download now>
- After that, choose <
Save> in the dialog window <Download file>
- Click on <OK
> to continue.
Installation is very simple: doubleclick on the
downloaded file on your computer and the program will take over the rest of the installation
completely. When installed, return to the specific sound- or movie file again, doubleclick on it,
lean back and watch, listen and enjoy!
Installation of QuickTime
When you are not able to play your preferred sound- or video-files, then you can also
install on your computer the free program QuickTime. Through these short instructions you can add your
QuickTime fast and safe to your multimedia player programs. You can use QuickTime on an increasing
number of websites these days, especially for image- and movie-files. Therefore it is a convenient
program when installed on your computer.
The dowmnloading is taking place in 2 steps:
First click on the QuickTime logo below.
This brings you to the Apple website. Indicate whether you own a PC or a Macintosh computer and click
on the button <Download QuickTime>.
Now a small installation program will be downloaded and set to your hard disk in the default directory
for your downloaded files. This file is called <QuicktimeFullInstaller.exe>.
Now leave the Apple website and go with <Windows Explorer> via
Start Menu of your computer to the just downloaded installation file and doubleclick on this file.
Now you will be reconnected to the Apple website again and the downloading of the actual program will
start. It may take a while before the entire Quick Time program is installed.
When installed, return to the specific sound- or
movie-file again, doubleclick on it, lean back and watch, listen and enjoy!
Installation of Real Alternative
In order to be able to play the very special, unique Fiat 124 Spider promotional movies from
the Seventies, you will need another player than Windows Media Player, because this program is not able
to play the movie-files recorded in this different video fornat. A program that is able to show these
movies is the free downloadable player Real Alternative.
The downloading of this program will take place in 2 steps:
First click on the Real Alternative logo below.
You will be transferred to the Free-Codecs.com web site and click under the orange colored heading:
"Download Real Alternative" on the line in darkblue letters: Download [ Real Alternative 1.45 ] or a newer version.
Carry out the mentioned download-instructions and the installation program will be downloaded and set
to your hard disk in the default directory for your downloaded files. Now leave this website and and go with 'Windows Explorer'
via Start Menu of your computer to the just downloaded installation file and doubleclick on this file.
Carry out the installation.
When the program is installed on your computer, open the program
and open in the menu 'View" the menu 'Options'. Choose in the Options menu for 'Formats' and
check if all format-option squares are empty, except for
- v - Quicktime file
- v - Real Audio file
- v - Real Media file en op
- v - Real Script file
- v - Windows Media file
- In case there is no video- or audio player installed on your computer, OR the movies and videos on our website are not visible in any way, then click one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen on respectively <Video> - <Audio> or <All> and next
<Apply> and <OK>
When this is done, the program is configured properly.
Return to the Spidersweb page with the specific movie files again, click on it, lean back and watch, listen and enjoy!
