In order to enlarge and optimize the accessibility of a worldwide international audience ( Spidersweb has more than 250 active pages at this moment ), I have added a translation tool now that is able to translate text or entire web pages to and from a number of the most important world languages. Especially for those, who do not ( or hardly ) master the English language.

Drowned summer 2007

Click this picture of the drowned summer 2007 to visit the forum

August 12, 2007 - This summer - wet and seldom bright and shiny - is finished before it even started.

On online auction sites, barbecues are offered for sale massively. Beach tents, public swimming pools and ice-cream vendors are able to count their visitors by hand. On the other hand sales of dvd's and games are beating all records and internet is visited frequently and prolonged.

For that reason I decided to open the forum again as from today. Click the picture and welcome ( back ) !

In a lower gear this summer

Just like any other Spider enthusiast preferring driving open in a convertible much more than sitting behind a monitor screen, I decided to slow down considerably my efforts for the website during the coming summer months without the continuous pressure and obligation to invent, work out, write, translate and/or create new items for the site. So, the website is slowing down in a substantial lower gear.

Time that I need to load my own battery, acquire new ideas in order to hit the ball again later this season.

slow down in a lower gear

If you - in spite of the nice weather - are sitting regularly behind your computer screen, just dive deeper into the many hundreds of pages that can be found at Spidersweb.nl. For instance in the archive newspages 2004 and 2005 which are located at the bottom of the newspage ( the page with the eye-icon ) .

Also on behalf of the other members of the Spidersweb Team, I wish all Spider enthusiasts ( and their partners ) a bright and shiny open-driving season !
Best wishes and regards,  Ton

Already for many years I am looking out for nice wallpapers of the 124 Spider on my internet roamings, that I could use as desktops for my digital steam-engine. I only found two during all those years and - to be honest - they were awful.

So I created a large serie of wallpapers myself in the screen resolutions 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024. Click on one of the above reduced pictures to be able to see and download them all to your own computer.

During one of my internet wanderings in Esthonia, Latvia and Lithuania, I found by mere accident a nice video clip from the girl group SAMAJONA from Berlin. This name was drawn up from the first two initials of the four girl names Sabrina, Marleen, Jo and Nadja. Click on the picture above for more information about this video music clip.

Sauerland trip 2006 of our "October Spider Club"

The Fiat 124 Spider October Club made again her traditional annual autumn trip during the first weekend days of October 2006.
The tour brought us to the Sauerland region this year that has been visited by the October Club before and at the request of several members was chosen again as one of our most preferred destinations.
Also this year the most hospitable Hotel Gasthof Zur Post in Wenholthausen was the starting- and finishing point of our daytrips in this magnificent region in Germany.

Follow-up letter to 8 European Fiat 124 Spider Clubs

To continue and underline the topicality of my last month's request ( see below ), I have sent today June 2. 2006, the follow-up letter below to the various European Fiat 124 Spider clubs.

I hope that several clubs will be urged to cooperate, because the designer of the Fiat 124 Spider, Mr. Tom Tjaarda personally, is also involved in this issue.

Letter to 8 European Fiat 124 Spider Clubs

The fact that many Fiat 124 Spider owners will cross their country borders again this year and will make a tour or a stay abroad in one of the middle European countries and possibly have to face car or engine trouble for which their personal technical knowledge and/or technical possibilities will be lacking, brought me to the idea to set up an address-network of Fiat 124 Spider specialists for eight middle-European countries.

Not just for your own keen on travelling Spider owners, but especially for all Spider owners in these European countries and vice versa.

For that reason I have sent to the respective Chairmen and Secretaries of 8 European Fiat 124 Spider Clubs the following letter.

Letter to 8 European Fiat 124 Spider Clubs

Naturally I will return to this subject as soon as I will have received the requested information of the mentioned European 124 Spider clubs. I certainly will keep you informed.
